The stamina 1690 Power Tower is a free standing pull up bar device that is made for home workouts. This home work out machine has several exercise stations suited for dips, pull-ups, push-ups, and more. The frame is made out of steel so it has solid support and does not have any dangerous slip end caps. This steel device weighs 54 pounds. One great thing about Stamina products is that they are a big company and make multiple products that are tested for safety and function ability. This is a good piece of equipment and it is cheaper than the newer Stamina 1700 Power Tower. However, it is not portable at all so it is strictly a workout room device.
This pulls up bar does not wobble at all during use. The weight limit is 250 pounds. It’s suggested to use your own tools for assembly because they tools it comes with aren’t reliable. Be sure to tighten everything down real good if you notice any wobbliness. This is the first thing to do if you do not feel the Stamina 1690 is secure enough. The assemble takes about 30 minutes for regular people, craftsmen can probably do it in fifteen minutes. A second helpful hint is to not tighten the bolts all the way until the end of assembly. This will ensure that it will not wobble too. This product is made and manufactured in China, so it might not always come with all the right bolts and it isn’t doing much to help the American economy.
If you still feel rattling and squeaking, listen closely and find out which bolts are doing it. Tighten these and it should be fixed. The dip bar is on the other side of the pull-up bar so you do not hit your head. It’s been said to be shaky when doing dips, but placing a couple heavier weights on the bottom crossbar should help make you feel more stabilized.
